Now we know that what things soever the law says, it says to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.1 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.2 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.3 Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.4 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law...5 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, the just shall live by faith.6 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul...7 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners...9 And it is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgement;10 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, said the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.11 For Godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation...12
