STUDYING GOD'S WORD
Who can study God's word, the bible?
Do you fit the criteria that God has given us to study His Word?
Check yourself against the following qualifications to see if you are receiving the spirit of wisdom and revelation of God.
- Are you saved by faith in Jesus Christ? 1 Corinthians 2:14-16
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
- Are you hungering for God's Word? 1 Peter 2:2
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
- Are you searching God's Word with dilegence? Acts 17:11
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
- Are you seeking holiness? 1 Peter 1:14-16
As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
- Are you spirit-filled? Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
